We would like to welcome you to the official website of the Bellmore Striders. The Bellmore Striders are Long Islands Premier Racing Team. Organized practice is held three times a week, led by coach Alex Cuozzo. Alex has been tedious in committing himself to the sport of running and maintaining The Bellmore Striders for 35 years. The team has acted as a support structure in helping young talent develop further into competitive post collegiate runners. The twenty week Winter  training program is well under way. We have had to modify some of the program due to the harsh weather conditions. Tuesdays fartlek that closley resembles track work is the primary speed session. Thursdays fartlek is following the traditional path of longer reps with shorter rest. This progressive style has been divided into 3 series of increasing sets. Sunday mornings all year have remained the same (except when we race) behind Massapequa Train Station rear parking lot 9:30am start. All workouts are followed by strideouts and core drills.   

Next club event will be the Long Island Marathon & 1/2 Marathon on Sunday May 4, 2014 8am Eisenhower Park East Meadow, NY.
